The Hobby Waiver Wire: Week 7 Collectibles Buy/Sell Guide

The NFL season is officially unhinged. Quarterbacks are breaking out, running backs are resurrecting old dominance, and a few hobby markets are moving faster than your fantasy group chat.
Just like fantasy football managers scan the waiver wire for breakout adds, collectors should be doing the same across eBay and auction platforms — looking for buy-low, sell-high, and stash opportunities before prices correct.

For reference, you can always check our Pre-Season Fantasy Football / Prizm Silver Price Comparison Guide to benchmark these movements.

Here’s who to buy, who to sell, and who to stash after Week 7.

Category 1: The Breakouts

Daniel Jones (Comeback King)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $60 → Now: ~$330

Is Daniel Jones… the best quarterback in football right now? He’s playing like it. Jones completed 23 of 34 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-24 win over the Chargers, improving the Colts to an NFL-best 6-1.
He’s the runaway favorite for Comeback Player of the Year, yet his card market still lags behind peers. A PSA 10 Silver Prizm is selling around $330 — still well below Caleb Williams’ $450 despite a massive performance gap. That’s a lot of upside left in the tank.

Christian McCaffrey (Safe and Soaring)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $130 → Now: ~$145

McCaffrey is reminding everyone what a healthy version looks like: 24 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns, plus 72 yards on seven catches in a 20-10 win over Atlanta. After years of volatility, he’s taken over the RB1 throne again.
Investing in CMC used to feel like touching a live wire, natural to feel some hesitation here, but at only $145 for a Silver PSA 10 — barely above pre-season prices — he’s one of the safest blue-chip buys in the hobby right now.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (The WR1 Nobody Saw Coming)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $62 → Now: ~$90

JSN is quietly fantasy’s top wideout, averaging over 100 yards per game and an absurd 16 yards per catch. Despite that, his rookie Silvers are still hovering under $100. If he keeps this pace, these prices could double by season’s end. This is one of the clearest “easy flip” calls of the year.

Category 2: The Opportunity Window

Puka Nacua (Injury Dip, Buy Opportunity)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $86 → Now: ~$95

Nacua’s short-term injury created a temporary lull in his market, but make no mistake — he’s still a top-five wideout when healthy. If you can snag a Silver PSA 10 under $100, do it. This is the textbook buy-the-dip scenario before he returns to form.

Jalen Hurts (Value vs. Hype Check)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $543 → Now: ~$450

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Hurts is a top-five fantasy QB, the Eagles lead their division, and he’s a Super Bowl champion — yet his market has slipped under $450. Compare that to Drake Maye ($1,000) and Jayden Daniels ($930), both unproven, and it’s clear: Hurts is a bargain at current levels for collectors with deeper pockets. The hobby really doesn’t make sense sometimes.

Category 3: The Risk/Reward Plays

Rashee Rice (Second Chance Surge)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $50 → Now: ~$84

Rice returned from a long layoff with a vengeance — seven catches, two touchdowns, and a blowout win. His ceiling is capped by off-field baggage, but if he stays clean and productive, he could become one of this season’s biggest mid-tier gainers.

Drake Maye (The Overhyped Hold)

Pre-season PSA 10 Prizm Silver: $458 → Now: ~$1,000

Maye’s market is pure speculation right now — up more than 2x pre-season despite limited proof he can deliver at the pro level. Unless you truly believe he’s the next Brady, tread carefully. For perspective: Jalen Hurts, with a Super Bowl win and MVP-level play, is half that price.

Bottom Line Strategy

Breakouts to Buy: Daniel Jones, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Christian McCaffrey

Buy the Dip: Puka Nacua, Jalen Hurts

Upside Swings: Rashee Rice

Proceed with Caution: Drake Maye

Week 7 showed that collectors should be every bit as aggressive — and calculated — as fantasy managers. Who are you picking up this week?
